This is an old sketch, done on location in New Mexico. Such fun memories here!
Don Getz taught the sketching plein air workshop, and was one of my favorite workshops ever!
Wish I could go again.
I love to draw and sketch, and have kept sketchbooks for years! This blog is strictly for my sketches past and present...There is nothing quite like finishing a sketchbook and look back through it and remember all the fun things that I got to sketch! Or filling a sketchbook from a trip. Or just sharing your sketchbooks. It is like your own visual diary. If you are interested in getting updates, to to the right side bar and add your email address. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Sketches at Rock'n N B and B-Plains TX
Saturday was the day to go out to the B and B and pick your own Lavender. It was a gorgeous day!
I stayed about 4 hours, taking photos and sketching. It is such a fun place to be. Lots to see....and smell!
This is a side view of the house.
Fence posts with old boots!
and a wagon wheel hub, laying in the wild flowers

New Sketches
My favorite flowers! Tulips. I put some color down first, then drew the flowers.
The little camper was in New Mexico. I took this photo several years ago and just wanted to sketch it yesterday, in honor of Memorial Day.
The old barn is behind our house. It is over 60 years old, and is falling down! Due to the wonderful rains, the sunflowers are growing like crazy back there.
June 12-13 I will be teaching a sketchbook class. Come join us! If you are interested, email me.

Sketchbook Workshop June 12-13
We
will have a sketchbook workshop June 12-13. Keeping a sketchbook will
help you learn so much about drawing. I have room for 10-12 in my
Studio. Let me know if you are interested in joining us. The cost is $60
for both days. You can just do one day if you can't make both.
Sketching is so much fun! The first day I plan on working inside and on
the second, go out and sketch out doors. Now that is really fun!
email
me if you are interested. All you really need is a good sketchbook, a
pen, small watercolor palette if you want color! I like to use water
soluble markers too. We will cover the different kinds of things you
can use.

Fun Sketches
This was done with the sketch and wash pencil. I really like using it.
You draw, shade, etc. and then use water with a brush!
The bottom one is done with a tombow water soluble pen. I really love using these for darks and grays.
It is used the same way. Draw, then use water on parts of it.

Two Sketches
I enjoyed both of these sketches! I love adding color to my ink drawing.
The Camper is in Plains, and I love this old camper!
I think it would be fun to redo it.
I just used the ink, and tombow with some water on it, then added the red flowers.
