Dead Vehicle Challenge

James Gurney posted a challenge...Paint a dead vehicle. One that doesn't run. Car or truck.
I wanted to do this old vehicle for a while so I set up there and did it.  It had to be painted on location, and you had to post a photo of your easel, etc.  This old international is in Plains, TX.
I started out trying to use oils but I don't paint enough with oil to know what to do, so I ended up using a sketchbook, and drawing it with my fountain pen and ink, then painted with watercolor and a little gouache.

Two new flag sketches

I still love drawing and painting flags.  I took a few pictures of our flag one day when it was cloudy and windy.  These are just plain fun, and I  LOVE our American Flag.

Midland TX Sketch workshop

I was invited to teach a one day Sketch class. We really needed more than one day but I think they did great and got the hang of just using 'shapes' to draw!  There were 8 very enthusiastic sketchers there!
We had a lot of fun.  The card sketch is mine.  The sketch of me working was one of the students. I love it!

This was everybody's effort with the coffee pot and they did a great job on them.

More new Sketches

I am not getting to sketch every night but I do when I can.
I am headed out of town to teach a sketch workshop. I LOVE teaching this and seeing people succeed with their drawings!

The cake was Kens birthday cake. He was in the hospital during his Birthday on July 1st.
The cake was pretty and very Yummy!

The combine was at our neighbors. The porch scenes belongs to a friend.

July Sketches

I love patriotic subjects and paint a lot of flags.  I also love the Statue of Liberty! She is awesome. My favorite man made thing ever.
I also did some musical instruments from a place in Austin, TX.
And the flowers around our gas meter was so cool, I had to draw it too!
