Fun Sketches

This flower sketch goes to show you can paint with anything that has some color.  I bought a bouquet for Mother's Day that had pink dyed flowers.  One of the leaves fell off and it was full of the dye. I took it and pressed it in different places in my sketchbook, and then a couple days later, drew the flowers using the pink as centers, petals and leaves.  It is all form the plant.  No paint.

Ken had some skin cancer removed so I sketched him waiting on his Dr.  We got a big laugh out of it. it was fun!  The rest are like 5 seconds sketches because these people were on the move.

The taco soup was a surprise in the mail from my aunt!

In the country

I took this photo somewhere in Texas! I love landscapes and Texas! I drew this with a Platinum fountain pen. It has an extra fine nib. I am using a landscape 8.5x5.5 sketchbook.

I am convinced the type of brush you use make a difference.  I love the splotchy look. I am using a cheap joes pseudo sable brush in sizes 12 and 6.  It holds the color and water.

May Day Flowers

I have been drawing the beautiful tulips my daughter sent me when I had surgery. There was 60 red yellow and purple and so pretty!
When they started opening really good they started laying out.  I loved that look.
I took a lot of photos from the top too.

This sketch was an experiment. The first two were drawn upside down.
The #3 was drawn right side up. I used a very fine point pen.
