Our daughter loves dogs and she got a new little girl to go with T-Bone!

New Sketches

I am taking one of the Sketchbook skool classes, and the lesson was on Cross hatching.  I didn't do too many on this old building but it's mainly for shadow and shapes.  I did it in ink, and took a photo, then I decided to put color on it. I love color!  The Cafe is an old building on the way to Carlsbad NM. I had to turn around and go back for a picture!  For this little painting I did a different technique.  I painted the page with yellow and white casein.  Then I drew with pencil after it dried, and painted it with watercolor and some gouache.
It was a fun piece to do.

New sketches from Cloudcroft New Mexico

We have been in cloudcroft this week for a watercolor workshop with Laurie Goldstein-Warren. It was a great workshop. I did a couple sketches so far. The Bar B Que  place is for sale.  The 2nd sketch was at the old library where we paint.

Kerrville Trip Sketches

More sketches from the Kerrville/Fredericksburg trip.  I love these old houses with flags on the porch!  Of course the sign 'Texan' caught my eye!

Old Dump Truck

Out side of Sweetwater Texas is an old run down dilapidated house with some very old cars and trucks around it.  I can't believe people just leave their old cars like it was left there 50-60 years ago!

It is drawn with ink, and painted with gouache.

I have been sketching each night, just odd stuff. Whatever i have in my photos. I just love drawing and sketching.

Workshop Sketches

 These are the colors we used in the workshop this week with Linda Baker. Cheap Joes of Cheap Joes art Supplies furnished our paint.  The sketch of the door is the sketch i used to paint from.  It is 1/2 Sheet on arches watercolor paper.

Antique Store Sketches

I went in a antique store in Hobbs, NM and took a lot of neat photos. I have several sketches from there.  Was fun! Especially the salt and pepper Shakers.

Saddle

I love anything western, and enjoy drawing saddles. This one I tried to get the tooled leather.
